I picked this Delica from a local gun store that also seemed reputable but comparing the logos of my PM2 (on the bottom bought from knivesshipfree.com) they look different. Even the stamping of the name looks off. Looking at pictures off knivesshipfree.com for the delica the stamping looks the same though. I don't know if the logo would change from model to model?

I'm not really a spyderco guy and only own a para 3, but I pulled this from Knifecenter for the same model and steel. Looks legit to me. The font looks the same and the belly of the logo seems the same too.

Maybe. Odd the logos look slightly different. Thanks for checking. I was looking at photos of the PM2 and they looked the same as mine.

All good. This is the same process I go through when buying from eBay. It's getting harder to spot nowadays. Take care!

I think it's the way the light hits the blade. Most of the stock photos are professionally taken vs what we can do on our cell phones. IMO

It looks legit to me. The Delica is made in Japan with different machines and tooling than they use in Golden, so comparison to a PM2 will be misleading. And tooling wears with use, so tang stamps will change a bit over time. The most important thing is the tang appears to be stamped, the fakes are usually printed on the surface rather than stamped into the steel.

Your Delica looks very much like mine. However, I began doubting the authenticity of mine after I cut up a pot roast and the blade discolored/stained a faint straw-like brown color. I put in an order for another one from DLT Trading last night, and will compare upon arrival.

From what I’m seeing, this model has very convincing fakes. I should have bought my first one from DLT instead of Amazon.

I’ve had a delica in the past which I sold, but I remember the VG-10 would have two tones start to appear from my hand oils. Never turned a straw brown color but I don’t think I used it on meat. I’ll have to try on mine.

Received my new Delica from DLT Trading. To my eyes, it’s the same as the one I had doubts about.65B26AEE-4ED1-475E-8A91-AE3E288E47C4.jpeg2988B48F-3EF1-47D7-A2AA-ACEEBB644238.jpeg8E1B4FF9-40B8-41E4-9E98-171BD2AFD255.jpeg

There are old threads, cant remember if here or if on the Spyderco forum, confirming that the blade lettering has varied from time to time.
Yes, saw that as well when researching. I was not concerned with the lettering as much as I was the quickly forming patina from cutting a pot roast. The blade shape, finish and grinds look close enough to me.
