hi i just bought a Tom Brown tracker knife and i think it might be a fake i looked at other ones and the blade looks exactly the same but the handles on mine are thicker and not of the same material and have sharp edges like the handle never got sanded down to fit someones hand. So i was wondering if there is any way to tell if it is a fake i know there is a knife called the paratraxx bowie that looks like this knife but i checked and the blade on my tb tracker is thicker and it has the TB tracker logo and everything on it.

any help you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Zach

this could be from another company that had a deal with tom brown.
But I dont think he allowed anyone but Tops to make the knife under his name.
the thing is its not a blatent chineese copy as it doesnt say Tops it just says tom brown tracker.
I am however 100% sure this was NOT made by Tops

oh well at least i didnt pay to much for it and its not exactly a bad knife its thick enough that i can probably use the thing as a hatchet plus i can always put it up for auction stating its a fake to try and make a little money back but i think i will keep it its a pretty cool knife none the less.

i got to wonder though arent they breaking the law on this website knife911 (i bought my fake on ebay ) using brand names on these knives when they are in fact fakes or is there a loophole i dont know about

The product descriptions are the best, as evidenced by the following:

"Full keel steel frame, wire-cutting technology of production, strong, open and close smoothly, the whole open-tooth blade, is ideal for fast cutting operation. Thimble tail offensive, broken glass can be an appropriate attack and defense."

That, of course, is their ad copy for their Boker Jim Wagner folder counterfeit, the.....get ready for it......"Boker Rui Ba (tooth-wide version)."

If this doesn't make you fall out of your chair laughing, nothing will!

Take a look at their "Jungle Hardness Survival Folding Knife Tactical Knife!" Yes, they did say "folding!"

How about a look at their "M.strider (7CR13 Steel)Hand Pocket Knife!" Yes, they did say "pocket knife!"

The ad copy really seals the deal: "Mick handmade knives and a classic, the knife-based mainly on practical design, two-edge, sharpness, and excellent cut performance. Thick outside edge, you can cut hard objects. . And practical tool to streamline the whole, the use of 5mm thick steel wire cutting production 7CR13. Strong to defend, to streamline the unique type of knife is your best choice for outdoor use."

One has to wonder why they'd add the "Remington" logo mountains to their "Cold Steel" logo on this piece and box:

A "Cold Steel" without the "Remington" mountains, but with "xoxoxo" on the handle scales!:p

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I hate counterfeiters, but stupid, uneducated counterfeiters are at least good for a laugh!:D:D:p

The Tracker is fake. I had a TOPS one and this one is just not one of those. What did you pay for it? I mean, you can still use it...

I have seen a knife, like you posted here, at a gun show. I just thought it was an older model. Now that I know it is made out of 440, it must be a knock off.

i payed like 60 bucks i mean it really isnt that bad of a knife im going to have to sand the handle a little the thing weighs more than the hatchet i use to chop fire wood so i guess i could use it around the yard maybe
