I just bit on what I think is a pretty good deal on two 2x8 diamond bench stones, a medium and a fine, which are described as unused and purchased from A.G. Russell in the late 1990s to early 2000s. No other info.

If anyone has any additional info. on these stones, I would appreciate hearing it---who made them for A.G., approx. grit size, quality, etc.

BTW, by any chance does AGR have its old catalogs posted online somewhere? If so, I haven't been able to find them.

Thanks,

Andrew

A.G. is a member here (link to his profile below). If anything, you might send him an email, and he or one of his staff might be able to shed some light on those. They look like they're in pretty good shape.

I've always wished A.G. Russell had their older catalogs in an online reference (or, make it accessible if it's already digitized). At some point in the past, I seem to have seen at least one catalog or flyer in a digitized format online (probably .pdf), but I don't think they have a comprehensive database of old catalogs online. I have at least a few years' worth of old A.G.R. catalogs stuffed in various boxes and going back to the '90s era (I think), but I don't recall seeing those in any of my catalogs. If they were up to his usual quality standards, I'd assume they should be pretty good.

Thanks, David. I may contact A.G. or his nice staff and ask. Truth is, they already helped me out a lot this week identifying an older AGR folder, and I didn't want to wear them out!

David, BTW, I asked the nice lady at AGR whether they had the old catalogs online somewhere and she said no but that it is a good idea. Maybe someday...

I'd like to say I'll hold my breath, but I probably won't. I've been wishing for this for a long while, though getting that project going would likely be daunting.
