It's a three blade and the shapes of the blades are pretty much a thin spey blade, a sheepfoot, and a sabre clip. Handle looks to be mother of pearl and the markings are "J.PRIMBLE BELKNAP GERMANY"

My only real big puzzle piece is the badge on the handle - it doesn't really resemble the typical J Primble crests/shields

Here's the only real info I've found that helps me any: http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=910

some more googling has turned up this info, here's a very similar badge on a remington knife (R1065, picture) next to some other remington knives that have badges very similar if not identical to the j primble stampings: http://www.jbrucevoyles.com/A66/A66%20Page%202.html

And you're correct on the handle, it's not mother of pearl, it's celluloid. I should've known b/c the interior imperfections and fractures are much too deep for what you see on mother of pearl stuff
