Part of my grandfather's unidentified collection is a Pacific Cutlery folder.

It's got a three inch blade. On it is marked in big letters Laredo. I think this might have been added later.

At the base on the side of the thumb nail notch (and with the Laredo), it says
Pacific Cutlery
Corp.

On the other side, it has the butterfly with bali-song written through it near the base of hte blade.

Below that, it says

440C STAINLESS
TAIWAN

The top of the hilt is stainless steel, whereas the rest is a very attractive very dark red wood with stainless pins through it. It also has a lanyard hole at the bottom. The hilt curves a bit torwards the end. It is a lockback.

Anyone have any ideas?

Probably a model 103.

Here are at least 3 of the series together. From top to bottom, 103, 101, 100

That's the one. Is this knife anything special?

I may have to revise that "got my first benchmade" post now...guess I've had one for five years

Not really. It's a great looking knife IMO and the ones I have are sharp as can be. It's 440C so it will be a good solid user knife.
The value on them is pretty low though. You wouldn't get much for it as a collectors piece.

Technically not, since this is a PCC knife and not a Benchmade.

Forgive my old knife n00bness, but I thought pacific cutlery turned into Benchmade?

Oh, I'm not interested in selling the knife. I couldn't sell my grandfather's knives...just curious if this deserves a good spot in a display. It's well used, if incredibly sharp, and my grandfather was not very good at sharpening blades so the edge shape and finish on the blade have been messed up.
