Hi everyone I'm new. I went to a shop today and ended up trading. In return I got 2 knives, one schrade walden 825 and a buck 301. Both appear to be older. Can someone help me figure out what I have here? I'm not sure how to upload photos. Thanks

You need a gold or higher paid membership to ask value questions on BladeForums. If you post some pictures the folks here may be able to help you with some other info on your knives.

To post pictures you can upload images to a hosting service like Photobucket (it's free) and copy and paste the
code for each picture into your post.

The 301 is still a current production model. If memory serves, my late step father carried a large or medium Buck stockman in the 70's, and probably earlier. I'm going to order one in a couple weeks, with the black handle.
When/if you post pictures, be sure to include a closeup of the tang, showing the markings. The experts can decypher the date stamp.

As Peregrin said, we can't discuss values in this thread. You can go on ebay and search for your knives as completed auctions. There you'll see the real value (what people really pay for them....and didn't) and the auctions should have some text to help you with identifying.

Hi. Thanks to everyone who got back to me. I called buck up today to find out about it and they told me its from 1972-1986. Thanks to everyone who helped. I plan on calling up Schrade tomorrow to find out about that 825. thanks again.
