Just found this site, looking for any info on a knife I found while cleaning out a barn. Knife has a wooden handle with retractable steel blade marked Alex Coppel Solingen. Appears to be very old, some type of makers mark is visible on the opposite side of the blade from the name. Handle is unknown type wood, (bolster?) is brass. A steel side locking mechanism allows the blade to be locked at any of 5 lengths. Handle is 6" long, knife is 11" long when fully extended. Blade slides inside the handle. I am not a knife afficiando but this one caught my attention. Thanks. SPS

I can't tell you anything about the knife that you have. The maker is listed in Levine's Guide To Knives And Their Values so I would go to the Bernard Levine Forum and ask there. Maybe you will be able to find out something of interest about the knife you found.

Welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.:)
