I inherited this Elmer Keith style knife (as created by Gil Hibbon) from my stepfather. As can be seen, the knife is minimally marked and I have been unable to determine who made the knife (which appears to have been done in 1977). Can someone identify the maker's mark stamped on the blade? if not, I'll go over to B. Levine's forum, but thought that I'd start here.

Thanks for any help provided.

Can't help with the ID, but had to say what a treasure you have.
And in stag, no less!
No matter who made it.
I've always wanted one of those.
Good luck on your search.

I just perused the Knives Annuals makers section looking for last names of makers with an 'O' and with a 'J'. Neither had this combination as a mark.

Sigh. We often talk of the frustration of using a mark with a stylized logo instead of a name. When the maker is out of the spotlight, no one knows. Good luck.

It's not a matter of being out of the spotlight....it's a matter of establishing the mark to the name of the maker without any confusion or obfuscation. If it is a maker that is the in KAnnuals, there is little confusion....if they aren't, it's good luck amigo, better luck next time.

Homie don't play that.

^^^ Got it.

I thought I'd figured it out: "That's a 'Diamond J' Knives..." Then I looked them up. A couple of flash in the pan brothers who burned out as soon as they got moving and collapsed. Not from the seventies.

Nor could I find a 'Jay Diamond' search. Hmmmmm.

Interesting.

Wanna post back on this....see the washy grind line between the flats and hollow?

See the deformation of the pin stock from round to sort of ovoid on the scales?

See the gap/proudness on the pins in the front and rear guard?

This was not a knife made by a professional....this is a hack job..this knife is a tutorial in one photo for many things that a professional should NOT do..nothing to see here, move along......

I would love to see some photos of your tattoos, I’d be happy to critique your work.
