Hello all, new to the forum. Need help identifying a Japanese chef knife that I inherited. I am pretty sure its a Kurouchi Nakiri but that's about it. I have searched the web for days to identify the stamp on the blade but to no avail. Also have used translation apps and they don't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated and Thank in advance.

Thank you so much, you are def correct. Does the box say the type of steel or what the handle is made of? The blade is wrapped in white paper if that helps at all

Unfortuanately no mention of the steel type.
The box label says Nakiri Houchou 菜切 包丁
Chestnut Handle 栗枝 165cm

The paper on the blade is KS-VCI corrosion resistant paper for steel products. And that's all that's written on it.
