Hello!

A few weeks ago I received this old dagger from my grandpa. He has been an antique dealer since the 1970s, now retired.
He got this in 1978, and never checked the origin.

I've looked over the dagger, and can't find markings on the blade, but I can see some on the handle. Does anyone know anything about the origin and how old this is?

Thanks for any help!

It's 20th century, probably made in Spain. A lot of full and short swords were made in this style late 1940's - 60's for display. If you search gun magazines from that time, you might find similar. The round drilled guard and the threaded rod construction mean that it was made for display or very light use. This one might have been shortened a little too.

Edit - Yes, Spain. Here's a similar one -
