Help identifying old hatchet

I have a really old hatchet and it’s an odd little guy im trying to figure out who made it . It’s really small it’s only about 2 1/2 in wide and 4in from the head to the cutting edge . It’s rectangular in shape and a one sided edge as in a hewing hatchet and has a really short hammer head on the back . I found it in some old tools the were my fathers and decided to clean it up and put a handle in it . In the process of removing the rust I found a faint makers mark but its unlike anything I can find it has many symbols and characters. It’s very faint and iv polished it with steel wool as much as I am comfortable for fear of removing it completely. It has a triangle with a dot in the center with a B/ P close to the triangle then a bigger E with a tiny heart shape then a circle with a cross in it then what I think is a flower with a long stem . It has other faint marks possible a j and a y or k and I think the number 4 . Im trying to figure out how to add a picture. Any help will be appreciated . Thanks

You'll need to use an image host like postimge first.

It sounds like this may be a head thats a lot smaller than it used to be, like a worn out shingle or lathing hatchet but without pictures this is just speculation.
