Help identifying old Ka Bar

[Mason Knives]

Hi All

I picked up this little gem the other day and would like to find out more about it, if possible.
I intend to use this knife as a basis for a pattern, i am not interested in value.

Its 3" closed, the main blade is marked KA-BAR, and the secondary blade is marked Union Cut Co, Olean NY USA

The small bar shield has lost its markings through wear i think, and the knife certainly has seen some well loved pocket time.

Any help would be appreciated
