Help identifying old knife my brother gave me. Turkish or Persian, or Arabic?

Hello. This is my first post. Yesterday my brother told me he had a handmade knife, probably Turkish, that he wanted to swap for an old Japanese sword that he gave me years ago. So, i did. It has inscription of some sort on the blade. From the looks of it, it has brass and copper, and a lot of detail. Hand crafted, i suppose. I haven't taken it to any experts, so i thought i'd try my luck on here to see if anybody would know about a knife like this. Thus far, nothing i found on ebay or google images comes close. This may be extremely old, or perhaps not. It even has a loop for a belt. Pretty cool. /Users/deanshake/Desktop/IMG_1048.jpg

I have a feeling that i didn't post the jpegs correctly, or they can't be seen. They were taken with an iphone.
