Help Identifying older ColdSteel War Sword (?)

I purchased this some time back in the 90's, I believe directly from Cold Steel, but I can't even recall what this thing is called now ... It resembles a Chinese War Sword in design. It originally came with a 2ft (or approx.) hickory handle, with a knob at the end. The handle was attached with 2 screws. I cut that handle off to make it easier to hold (or so I thought). It has a leather scabbard as well. The blade is black powder coated, with no identifying markings. It's 1/8" thick, approx 3" wide at the widest point, with an approx 13" cutting edge. It's been sitting around for years now, and I'm just trying to decide what to do with it, but wanted to find out exactly what I have first.
Thank you in advance!

Yeah, I remember those choppers. Cold Steel was trying to expand out into the sword/spear/axe markets, and this one was a way to do it a bit on the cheap. Like you, I can't remember exactly what it's called--kids have turned my brain into swiss cheese. Instead of the Sword Forum, repost it in the Cold Steel Forum; some of the posters there know a bit of the history, and it might just tickle the Mod's fancy enough to check it out. As to what to do with it.....I knew some guys who took the short handles off and and replaced them with shovel handles to make their own functional Kwan Daos. As a young man in the 90's, that was your only option without breaking the bank.

Thanks for the feedback! It looks like it was reposted in the CS forum somwhow - I didn't even see that category when I initially posted, so my bad for not paying better attention.
About all I can recall is ordering it from a catalog I got in the mail ( 2 concepts that are now pretty-much outdated :) along with their CS assegai spear. It wasn't very practical, but it was one of those "saw it, gotta have it" impulse buys.

I totally remember thumbing through the Special Projects catalog. I totally had to have the Purpleheart cane when the Alaska Permanent Fund checks came in one year, which came in bloody useful when I took my knees out a while later. I still wish I would have gotten the Lion Killing Spear, and there was this short Kukri that caught my eye then disappeared....

Was called the Warlord...looks like it only appeared in the 1998 catalog

Ahh .... very cool ... thank you! I found the 1998 catalogue on CS's archive page, and there it is, on page 27! Mystery solved :-)
