This is a puukko knife I found in one of my grandfather's old tool boxes. Not sure of its significance, if any. Just wanting to learn more. Thanks.

As Frederick says, the makers name is likely what is engraved in the fuller.
The script is in English, So I suspect it is a mass produced blade, made for export to North America.
The handle appears to be varnished, rather than oiled.

Less than 50 yrs old.

The knife was made by a Finnish firm, 1922-1945, Loumanen and Kumpp.
One of many Finnish knife companies that went out of business just after WW II.
A standard Finnish puukko. The basic utility knife for fishing, hunting, camping
etc.

Ah Rich thank you! That is the name written up top. Some of the letters were hard to make out and when I searched for "loumanen" I got nothing. Thanks for the help
