I traded for a Cold Steel Mini AK47 knife from a buddy of mine today and I have no idea if it has Aus-8, or CTS-XHP in it. From what I have read it appears to be the former, but there is no stamping/etchings on the blade anywhere that states it. This also sent up red flags to me because I immediately thought about it possibly being a fake. I do not believe that my friend would knowingly sell me a counterfeit, but who knows about the person that he got it from. I know next to nothing about these tactical folders, so any help would be appreciated. Happy New Years to you all!
The pommel is aluminum and not plastic, if that helps.

Thank you kindly for the replies rycen rycen & MolokaiRider MolokaiRider , I appreciate them. I am a collector of traditional folders so getting this knife was completely stepping out of my realm. I gave him $30 for the knife and I have no idea if I came out ahead or in the hole lol…😂

As stated above , probably AUS-8. Those were not labeled with the steel type , IIRC .

My CTS-XHP version is labeled (in very small letters ) as such under the "Cold Steel" .

Nothing wrong with the old AUS-8 , IMO .

They are long discontinued and cool little compact folders .

Well worth your cost , if functional , IMO . Enjoy .

It wasn't until 2015 that they officially started to use the modern-day powdered-process steels and mark it on the blades.

Mine looks the same without the blade coating having been removed.

I have seen the Tuff-Lites and full-size Ak-47s with AUS-8A marked though.
