Looking to purchase this from another person, wondering if anyone has any info on the style, etc. Id does have UB on it so I know it is not vintage. Pretty wild and unique~!
Any info on it would be great, said it was made by rajkumar....

that is flat awesome and if you end up not wanting it I want it :D never seen or heard of such a thing, must be a one of a kind custom? is also def a raj kumar. double mountains

I held one of those in Reno, I sadly can't recall what it's called. It wasn't quite as ornate as this one.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly and enlighten the unenlightened, that would be me.

Can't see the mark clear enough but it almost looks like Rajkumar if it's mountains or Bhakta if it's a bow and arrow. Just not quite clear enough in the picture to tell.

Well.....I cant find a thread on it after much looking, but it is a parang style blade with a daphne handle.
Possibly only one (or just a few) made.

I'm thinking it's a variation of the Rajkumar Hanshee (different from the better know Hanshee). Unfortunately, the photos didn't survive for confirmation.

HANSHEE BY RAIKUMAR THE (PRINCE)

Overall length --15''
Weight --16 oz
Spine thickness --1/4''
White metal bolster, buttcap and tip
Chiruwa style satisal wood handle
Standard leather scabbard
Amazing work by the Prince
Add to your collection at $145.

...like a small hybrid Parang Chandong to me.

I dont know why theyve called this one a hanshee/hanshe. It is more of a stylized parang. The whole blade should be tempered, but i would not use it for heavy chopping as would one of our khukuri. It is more a small machete/kitchen/hunting knife...

I think you're correct, Steve....Thank You!
Unfortunately all those pics were lost because of the shady renospeedypc host that auntie was using at the time.

I think this is what threw me off, the parang-ish shape but being called a Hanshee. Never seen an HI with such exotic flare! I'll definitely be adding it to my collection (sorry Gehazi!) I just wanted to get some
information or background on it. I will post a nice photo report of it when it arrives soon.

The only thing that throws me off is that it has no white metal bolster or buttcap.

I remember a handle like that on a pheasant knife a while back but the blade is entirely different. and yes...no bolster. Definitely parang like. Cool blade! Grats DMC!

It's the Himalayan Bird and Trout Knife. What, didn't y'all know they grew 'em that big up there;)

Honestly, it's a pretty cool knife:)

There was also a Daphne Ang Khola by Rajkumar.
Thats the one I was thinking of. Thanks Karda. The Daphne AK didnt have a bolster either and the habaki was actually carved into the wood. Technically not a habaki i guess? It was also carved down the blade to look like feathers.

That's why I suggested that it was a variation of the Rajkumar Hanshee (or Hanshe). Here's a post from 2012 that confirms the bird handle:

Thanks for the photos, I was wondering what it looked like in the sheath.
That's quite a knife, especially at that price. Like a decorated Chiruwa AK, not too heavy, with an extra-long handle for versatility.

The Rajkumar Hanshee also looks like a bird.

looks like a runner duck! (i'd eat that annoying rooster crowing in the background)

that's why they are runner ducks, not flying ducks! while they do flap their arms (wings) occasionally, they're a bit too small to fly with (vestigal).

another local runner duck

(they prefer walking to flying, hence the more upright position than more common ducks. )

from the pics sent to me it looks like it is about 13-14" long,, no idea on the spine thickness yet. From what I have mustered up I am thinking this is a Daphne pheasant knife.

I found these two pics:

Pretty much the same handle but different blade. Hopefully the seller will not change their minds and doesn't see this thread and get re-hyped on it!
