Help identifying tomahawk

Hello all-

I just purchased this tomahawk at my local junk store and am curious if anyone might know about the origins / history? It has no markings. Can anyone help me identify? I've never seen one quite like it. The head is 6.5 inches long, and it weighs roughly 8oz. See pic.
 
You have to use IMG tags and the URL of the image where it's hosted on another website. You can even right-click an image posted to Facebook and use that, though Facebook image URLs change after about a month so it breaks the images in the thread down the road. For a quick ID post like this, that's sufficient, though.
