New member and I have a question.
I was reading about Schrade history went to eBay to see if I could locate my Schrade Walden 225h folding Bowie.

What I found as well was this:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/371209840266?_mwBanner=1

Showed my wife and now it's wrapped as an Xmas gift.
I did get it in mitts to verify condition. Knife is pristine, sheath not correct but fits, box wrong.

I'm guessing @1974 manufacture?
No Schrade+ and nail nick further down blade more typical of the Schade-Walden manufacture. Haven't tested to verify carbon or stainless.

I'm not a collector but am curious as to what I have. I'm planning to carry and use the knife. Loved how much narrower it was than my 225.

Jolly

Cool! I am not the guru on this pattern but likely someone who knows them well will be along in a bit to sort it out for you. But I will say that the sheath, though wrong, "should" work, and if not you can easily sell the sheath and box along to someone lacking them for their otherwise pristine collector knife. Member lrv is one who specializes in these folding hunter patterns, but there are others. Welcome to the forum!

Serial number would be an interesting clue. It appears as if it has a "razor blade" factory finish, which I'm not sure I've seen on this pattern. Despite the missing + sign, somewhat curious on an Uncle Henry, it appears to be stainless steel. Some of the early 897UH Uncle Henry and 885UH has stainless marked separately with no +. They also were stamped SCHRADE NY USA. Glad you posted, as this seems to be unusual for an Uncle Henry.

Great price for this knife. Good to see it will be used.

Robert Clemente notes on the 127UH
1. No information prior to 1968
2. Ran from 1968 to 1969, then again from 1972 to 1988
3. When first produced, no name given in 1968 and 1969
4. The name, Lock Back Hunter listed in 1972 catalog
5. In 1968-69, there was a hole in the end bolster, and a hole in all production years except 1974-75, no hole

From my notes:
Production numbers show that there where 78 knives on order YE 1967 none shipped.
prior to 1975 less that 3000 where made per year.
1975 and 1976 show a large jump in the numbers of 12k and 29k each. 41K in 1977 and 48k in 78.
If you dig up the serial number and if the serial numbers started in 1968 Im guessing @1976.
