Hey all,

I recently picked up what seems to be a very rare knife based on this production totals for 2013 (see here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1156593-Charlow-Barlow-History/page13 )

According to the link, #152213 was a gift from Bill (owner at GEC) to Charlie for the success of the TC Barlow. It claims one piece was made, although there isn't a COA, letter, etc. you'd think you would find. I've posted some pics of the knife below, if anyone can shed some light on this I'd truly appreciate it.

The Ivory is gorgeous and has caramel streaks that you can't really see in the photo. Anyways, look forward to some feedback from the wealth of knowledge out there in the community!

Best,

That does not seem to be the case with the knife shown in your pictures.

If you look at the 2nd run it says "#152213 Genuine Pre-ban Elephant Ivory 1 pcs. no serial numbers (A gift to Charlie from Bill for the success of the TC Barlow SFO's)

Although the second run says "Genuine Barlow etch Spearpoint Blade with Long Pull and Pen blade" and this knife doesn't say Genuine Barlow on the blade. It does simply say #152213 and that had me wondering as there isn't an STL, etc.

Those came out a few months back. Produced with left-over, old stock parts (thus the 2013) with Derrick's left over ivory. Remember the rash of Elephant Ivory knives on KSF a few months back? These were in with that bunch.

Thanks so much for the info!

Simply put, this a horrible knife for you, ahbiv. I know you dislike it and I can help you with that problem. Knife friends help knife friends...

This isn't a 1 of 1. It's 1 of many produced recently in 2015. Production totals won't show up until the year is over but as Rockon said they were part of a large group of parts knives. That's why they have the 15 size Long-Pull spear point.

It's basically a long-pull Tidioute spear 15 with Elephant Ivory covers.

Thanks, that what I understood from the comment above. I wasn't wanting to sound like an idiot, but if you look at the link I provided you can see where I'm coning from, especially since it's a 13' knife that was built in 15'.

No worries, I can see how it'd be confusing with old parts knives. I'm unsure as to why they marked the tub as if it was made in 2013.

Whether unique or not, it's a gorgeous knife! I second HST and would be more than pleased to help you out with this horrible situation. 😜
