I picked this up at a flea market. It caught my eye as it looks to be well made and I liked the bone handle. The only thing on the knife is Wild Boar Surgical steel. I found some on the web that looked like they are from the same manufacture but I can not find any history of this maker. I don't know if this is some Chinese knock off or if its a vintage knife. Any help on this appreciated.

It appears the name "Wild Boar" is, or has been used by a few different knife makers. But the word I see repeatedly associated with "Wild Boar Surgical Steel" knives is "Pakistan".

So I did a bit of searching and found this fixed-blade. It's the only "Wild Boar Surgical Steel" knife I found with a "Pakistan" marking.

The knives I see with the marking "Wild Boar Surgical Steel" tend to look like lower quality knives. That, combined with the "surgical steel" mark, and the knife pictured below, and I'm inclined to believe that the knives with those markings are from Pakistan.

So I'd say that your knife isn't a "Chinese knockoff", it's just a cheap knife from Pakistan.

I only paid 10 dollars for it so I may have over paid by a couple of bucks. Its well made and in very good condition. So a good user.

Your find looks remarkably like a Case Peanut. I’m guessing that was the “inspiration”.
