Help IDing an older Benchmade knife

My son had a Benchmade folder that he always carried and used the heck out of. It had a blade around 4 inches, was all black, and was all aluminum. It was fairly rectangular in shape without much sculpting for grip like some are. It did have some texture on the grip areas. We lost him in 2014 and I've been trying to find out what model it was with no luck. It would be 5 to 7 years old now. His widow says she hasn't seen it and has no interest in looking for it so I could see it. I know it's a long shot but if anyone has any model names that might be it that I could search I should know it if I see it. Or if there's a discontinued model list somewhere you know of. It's a larger knife than I like to carry but I'd like to have one. Thanks for any help.

Are you 100% sure it was aluminum?

Was it this?

Similar shape but the black was worn off the grips on the edges showing the aluminum. I don't remember if the blade was serrated but it might have been and the blade was black.

I can't think of one that's all aluminum and fits the description. A couple ideas:

943 Osborne? Aluminum but not terribly large or blocky.

275 Adamas? Large and blocky but not Aluminum.

This is one of the bigger Benchmade’s out there, and it has the shape that you’re thinking of, it’s called the Adamas. It has G10 handles, though.

Spyder beat me to it. I wish you good luck in your search!

Could have been a red class or HK then. I am not terribly familiar with all of those. Was it an auto?

Axis lock or liner lock? Some autos would fit the description. All black is making it hard to narrow down. 650 Spike? That’s waaay back though. Auto Stryker maybe.

The Adamas is the closest to the shape I remember and it did have holes in it but they didn't seem that big. Maybe the wear was on the black frame inside the scales, on the blade and clip. Unless I can find a pic of him with it it's just going to be a guess.

Are you sure you would recognize it when you saw it?

100% no. If the Adamas was aluminum I'd say that was it.

I’m guessing since you aren’t sure if it was aluminum then it might be the Adamas.

To help narrow it down the adamas is a fairly thick heavy duty feeling knife. Like heavier duty thab most knives

Sorry for your loss...there is a Benchmade rep on line here...
Good luck finding that knife!

The only other one I can think of is the Monochrome. More like slots instead of holes & stainless frame.
