I'm very new here, but have the opportunity to purchase a fixed blade knife and can not determine the manufacturer or maker. the emblem on the knife is three peaks of a mountain in the backgroiund and a flame burning in the front of the mountain. the steel is cpm 3v. Thanks for your help up front.

That's Survive!. While the knives are generally good (or used to be), the company is horrible at doing business. There are several long threads about them on this site. I wouldn't support them even with a secondhand purchase (easy to say since I disliked the one survive knife that passed through my hands)

Instantly knew it was survive! Knives because of the logo description but I didn't know we are supposed to hate them now.

What happened? When I first joined here you had to get a 8 foot pry bar to get the fanboys off survives nuts.

I love reading posts about people from 2000-whatever saying "Strider. The only knife I'd use for anything combat related."
Cringe af. If I need a big prybar knife, how about a Sage? That can still shave. What about an Ontario SP-1?

Here’s some casual reading for you.
Thanks to shinyedges shinyedges for putting the work in.

You don't have to hate them...
and I'm sure some fanboys are still there.

From my perspective, there are too many good makers here to waste my time or money on the likes of Survive.
