Help in fixing rogue system tool virus

Have system tool anti virus take over my computer. I know that this is a virus. Anybody know how to get rid of? Thanks!

Malewarebytes is a program that removes malicious software from your computer. Download and install it. You can run it from safe mode.

Buy a Mac. ;)

I'm assuming you're running anti virus software on your computer, what one?

I've always used AVG on my PC and haven't had any issues. YMMV.
 
Boot in safe mode with networking. Download and run combofix from bleepingcomputer.com. Download, install and run malwarebytes from download.com. That should take care of it.
 
did finally resolve the problem by calling Microsoft. They walked through the fix by running 2 scans. They were great, checkde with me the next day to see if fix worked and all for no charge.

I was running Microsoft Security essentials for virus software.
