A few years ago (I think) I read an article about a guy whose father had made knives of supposedly great quality with some secret alloy or technique, and died without passing it along. The son was making knives and trying to recreate what his father had done, and apparently making good knives of his own, but had not managed to duplicate the secret.
Now that I'm getting interested in this, I'm wondering who the son is, whether he is still making knives, and how he is doing. Ring any bells with anyone? Thanks.
