Thanks for any help. Its marked Knecht Solengen. I bought this at a flea market for cheap. Its an older German knife. There is what looks like a logo of a globe with a cross on top. Also what is the half circle knife in the rear of the blade for? Thanks for any help on this.

August Knecht Stahl und Metallwarenfabrik was an old company dating well back into the 18th century and made knives for the German military as late as WW2. You don't see that mark much at all.
This is the European version of the TL-29. Its an electricians knife, issued to many signal corp units. That cut out is for stripping wires.

Thanks. Do you think this was used during the war, or would those have been marked with some military waffenampt mark of some type? Thanks for the help

The kabelmesser, like the TL-29, was made by a number of manufacturers over a fairly long period of time. Could have been issued in WW2, hard to tell really.
