i have had a throwing knife exactly like this once for years. granted it is not in as good of shape but it is this knife and this is the first time i have seen another one anywhere.
i was always told that it was a low grade piece bought for little of nothing in the 70's
but this guy is acting like it is something special so.... it kind of made me want to find out if it had any history behind it or something like that. i could find no other throwing knives that even had the same shape so of course i found no useable info. so.... anyone know what it is??

i don't care if it really is some piece of junk but i just want to know now.

and i have been self taught throwing it with a no spin technique and i can hit a very small target(3 inches or so) every time at about 8-10 feet.

Same size but I doubt it is as thick. This claims that it is only 4 oz. and that is way too light for a 10" thrower. The price of the one you show makes me think he is looking for a buyer that knows exactly what it is or a complete fool to be parted from his money. I don't have the expertise to know if it is a collectible or not. With some luck someone here will.

I started out with these throwing knives in the 50's. They were sold by whamo. They are light weight and will bend but can be straightened. I still have one as rememberance of the start of my knife throwing adventures. For a target I used a palm tree cut down and split lenghtwise. The inside is pithy and a knife will stick easily.

This is hilarious -- definitely an issue of a seller thinking they have something rare & highly prized. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's valuable. I've put it on my watch list to see how quickly that price comes down to $24.99, with the seller eventually giving up & giving it away at a garage sale.

My dad has one just like it without the leather handle. Too light for my tastes that thing on the handle end gets in my way too. It says "Colonial RI" on the side.

i found one of these for 5 bucks
i bought it
the leather handle was shot and extremely loose, so i replaced it with paracord
