Hello my friends.

I need some help!
I've bought a buck Intrepid and the screw that fix the handles to tank is torx drive type, but, on every sites that sell this knive and on Buck Knives page this screw is slotted drive type. Also the item number of the knive I've bought is 0189-TA-0 and on the Buck Knive page the item number of Intrepid is BU-189T. My question: Is the knive I've bought a real Buck Intrepid? :(
Thank You.
Claudio.

Claudio, greetings !! I'm not personally familiar with the Intrepid, but from the numbers you gave, you have an Intrepid. As long as the knife says Buck you are ok. The first set of numbers you gave sound like the UPC description above the bar code. The other is the model number. Now to add confusion see if the catalog ## is2749. Another idea is to post what is on the blade.
take care

Claudio,
The first knives used the pan head type fastener and we later switched to the torx type. So long as it is marked Buck, you should be ok.
Take care,

Thank you my friends for your attention.
I am more positive regarding my knive.

:D

okay, the first ones had a slotted head type screw......(--)

the next ones had a Torx type screw......(*)

why does mine have the wildest screws that require a spanner wrench?.....(. .)

Okay, I'm not an artist, but this is my best attempt.

Which generation is mine???

And whose idea was this type of screw?? (pain in the #@& to remove)
