I just got a used spyderco poliwog. I played around with it, and noticed there was a bit of crud on the blade hinge. So I took it apart, got it cleaned up, and now it feels "scratchy" when I open it. It's not like there is anything too complicated with the hinge, just a screw, two copper washer things, and the blade. I don't think I missed any parts, and I put a bit of oil on the blade, so I have no idea what is causing this. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you could have gotten some dust/dirt on your washers before you put it back together.

I don't know if you wanna do it with a poliwog, but at times I've taken dishwasher soap with hot running water to get rid of this and used compressed air and a cloth to dry it off.

I don't know if anyone else recommends this, but it has worked good for me in the passed.

You could have some slight burrs on the washers? Or considering the age the washers might have oxidized a bit, did they look shiny and bright or dark and dull?
I would suggest take the washers out and give them a light polish, oil them before you touch them and oil the pivot when you re-assemble it.

The washers definitely didn't look new, so I think I'll try polishing them, ad hopefully I won't get any dirt in there when I reassemble it! Thanks for the help guys
