Help, knife psychology!

Have not found Spyderco models to be jealous of each other. it is a negative destructive emotion. Think of Spyderco as the chef and the models as the meals. Moods and tastes change.

Important rules:

Make sure each knife gets a little "pocket time" each month.

Don't let one get much sharper than another.

Clean and lubricate them all together, this builds a "team spirit."

Never, EVER, opening that eagerly awaited package from UPS with a knife of another brand. Spydies free Spydies, Benchmades free Benchmades, etc. If you don't already have one of that brand, use your teeth

MY Spydies are VERY well-behaved!

I usually carry all of them in a bag (ALL 27 -> at this stage.... waiting for another 7!

) when I leave home on a long trip like field trials. I've NEVER had any disputes among the Spydies, every last one of them is only TOO HAPPY to be of service when I call on them...

I DO however, use different Spydies depending on the job at hand. Field trials call for the Endura and the Military in my pants pockets. Keyring applications are handled by the Cricket. The Delica looks after my wife when I'm away, while the Tim Wegner Jr. is called in when there is any biltong to be cut... The Wayne Goddard Lightweight is used for skinning, the Harpy for concealed carry to be ready to deliver a surprise when needed (

) and the Jot Singh Khalsa is the overseer!

The decision on plain or serrated blade use depends on my mood on the day in question... Anyway, I own a bunch of VERY happy and loyal Spydies!!

First off, don't let your wife use your Military in the kitchen!! She won't give it back.
I tried to bribe her with the CF Dragonfly. Now she has both. sniff sniff

My Wegner is in the spydie hospital, along with my Endura. another sniff sniff

So, I went and ordered more Spydies to make me happy again!!! I think I've contracted "Mustbespydiephobia".....and believe me, it is contagious.....

Hey one & all,

Well, Corduroy is absolutely right...in as much as you should only use a spydie to free another spydie from a shipping package.

I, for instance, followed said advice yesterday when I freed my new Harpy (G10), after a long trip from Canada via USPS, with my trusty Native.

There were, needless to say, no arguments on either of the knives part at the time, yet now they've joined the others in arm-wrestling matches in order to determine who gets "pocket-time" and sniff the great outdoors! LOL

Take care,

Michael Cedric Swiney
