Help, Lum Chinese, numbered

I have a numbered Lum Chinese #185, green handles, the box is labeled "11/20/2000". From what I gather, this is not a collectors version. What is the significance of the numbering? Is this version potentially more valuable than a non-numbered? Is this a good "keeper"? (yes, I like it a lot, but it's in the "showcase".) Any comments would sincerely be appreciated, thanks.

Actually you hit on it. It is a collector's knife. The first 200 are numbered for collectors and the remaining 800 of the first 1000 are numbered as well. The date should be the production/release date for the knife. Hope this helps.
