Hey Members....

Got this of a trade & cannot find any source relating to this. I know they make blue handle but this one is black. This one looks same like any mini barrage 585. What is so special or limited about this?

it's not like it has some special steel? Any thing different about it, so why only 250pcs made.

Any one?

This is the shot show knife from a few years ago.
What makes it limited is that it has G10 handles.
Looks like yours doesn't have the G10 handles, meaning someone swapped them out.
If this is the case, you got jacked.

How much value did the other person claim it was worth in trade? It is supposed to have G10 handles instead of the Valox handles that are currently on it.

All true; problem is the scales take about five minutes to swap, and that is the result in your photo. The G-10 scales really make a difference adding extra weight and texture.

I got it cheap....like a regular one. But when I see the limited edition? I'm confused?....guess the only direction I have now is custom scales

Here's the difference:

Top is the Valox, bottom is the G-10. Big difference in weight and feel.

Look at it this way: you can get some custom G10 scales made the way you want them made.

I always wondered why the 580 and 585 didn't come standard with G10. I absolutely hate the Valox scales. Seems like to nice of a knife to cheap-out on Valox.

And (fwiw) sound and feel, too. The G10 is a whole different experience, even though the knife cuts the same.
