Help me choose a dual sided stone please?

My finest stone is the 600 grit diamond lansky. I can get my edges pretty nice, but want to move up.. I finish up with very light passes and then strop on newspaper wrapped around a round bar. Good, but again - want to move up.
So what do you guys think? Maybe a 2000/4000? And what brand? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only double-sided stones I recall off-hand are ...
- DMT Diamond DuoSharp Fine (1200) / Extra Fine (8000)
- Spyderco Ceramic Double Stuff Medium (1000) / Fine (2400)

But, since you already strop, how about just using thin leather or paper with 1, 3, 6, 9 micron diamond/CBN paste or emulsion?

DMT's 'Fine' is 600-mesh as rated (25µ), and the 'Extra-Fine' is 1200/9µ. Their EEF ('Extra-Extra-Fine') is rated 8000/3µ. If looking to move finer in a diamond grit specifically, the EF and EEF DMTs would be logical, beyond a 600 grit hone. Not sure if a double-sided EF/EEF combo is available from DMT in a bench-sized hone; I kind of doubt it. BUT, there IS a double-sided DMT Dia-Fold pocket hone in that combination (it's the green/tan combo; I have one).

Thanks guys - how about that lansky 'super ceramic' rated at 2000 grit? Was thinking of that one before I posted this thread/question.

Hey, Travis - the double stuff - is it the 303mf? (Can't find grit ratings) if so - I think I'll get it.

i've got lansky stones - not diamonds. kit came with extra course through ultra fine - i think they call it 80 grit to 1000 grit.
I added the super fine - 2000 stone, it adds a nice polish to the edge

also recently added one of their leather strops, with some diamond paste. thinking about adding a few more strops and more, finer, pastes.

Skipped the super ceramic and just ordered the double stuff... (still may consider the super ceramic though)

Cerax Combo 1K/3K or Cerax 1K/6K Combo Stone would be good choices if you want a water stone.

Best to read ALL posts before commenting my friend. The post right before yours was the OP mentioning that he received his choice yesterday, and thanking the member who recommended it. Just some friendly advice. Too many people do this. They read the first post, then continue to type what THEY want to say. I actually find it a bit rude.

Glad you found, and are happy with what you were looking for Jason. Good luck!

Thanks, David for the support, but I can still keep an open mind moving forward. (But again - I'm very satisfied with Travis's suggestion and plan on no further purchases in the near future)

have you thought about getting course stones? or are you just touching up the edges you already have? or do you already have course stones?

I have 'em all - just wanted to move up a bit for that refined polished edge. (I used to like toothy edges, but my preferences have recently changed)
