I might go for a semi-customized color combination if KCI can get it in, but otherwise these are the only two stock color combos available.

I'm also probably going to get the Harsey II or the Horkos; simply love how the blade looks.

Same question on color applies, as above: Black or FDE?

Purely for safe-queening. The black probably has a tactical advantage if I'm planning to use it stealthily, but if that weren't a factor in the decision and y'all were going purely off aesthetics, which would you go for?

Totally like the FDE. Everything comes in black. Black looks nice, but I like some color.

Since your stated purpose is collecting, I'm going to suggest something completely different:

Get a full-custom Harsey. That way, you can get everything exactly the way you like it.

Bill's work isn't cheap, of course, but the difference is going to be your satisfaction with your purchase. A Harsey custom is also more likely to increase in value as time goes by, if you are looking at an investment piece.

The other way to go is the Bladeforums go-to answer: get both!

If your heart is really set on one of these knives, I would suggest the black. It has a more "classic tactical" look, which may help it's eventual re-sale value.

If you're not interested in re-sale, if this is truly a piece that you love, and your desire is to have it buried with you (which is kind of cool), then flip a coin. If you don't like the answer, go with the other one.

FDE on both. I am more partial to FDE I guess, but like RobertK said, everything comes in black.

FDE. I think it looks much better. Plus, it's much more sheeple-friendly (if thats even a concern for you)

What are the colors of where you live? Or what is the color of the jeans you wear? I'm just saying that you could choose a color based on concealment aspects. If that's legal where you're at.

Oh, were I to go based off color coordination then it'd definitely be FDE, no question. I live in the city, so my knife would probably get confiscated, but I'm moving back to Israel in the near future, and my knives are most certainly coming with me. So based off the whole "blending in with the surroundings" mindset, FDE as well.

Yeah, same here, I used to wear dark colored clothing, but it has changed to light. I may get some knives in tan, it seems like those would stick out against the forest too if you needed to find it after you forgot where you set it down. I bet that tan on tan ESEE 3 would be a good knife.

Well, I've made a the request to KC. If all goes well, I'm getting a Tan/FDE Ares and a Green/FDE Harsey II.

Cool brother. All I know about Israel lately is that they make an awesome pressure bandage. I hope it's not your neighbors for the reason why they became so popular.
