Again, I'm looking for defensive purposes. Not widdling wood or cutting this or that. Strickley combat! I like the CRKT Titanium or the infamous BM AFCK. I like the CRKT because it has a good drop point tanto with a nice belly that should put more of hurtin' on a would be attacker. I like the AFCK because its well, a Benchmade. I do realize that the BM steel is better, which would hold up better for doing misc. cutting tasks. So, with that being said, what would you guys recommend me between the two? Hopefully I have shed more of a light on my reasons to carry. P.S. Thanx for your patience and indeed your help.

I haven't handled the M16 ti, but have had a few other CRKT blades, and I own an 806D2 Axis AFCK. I think that CRKT makes a good knife, but BM makes a better one. Plus I find the handle of the AFCK to be very comfortable in forward and reverse grip.

I have the CRKT, And I love it. Unfortunatly I do not have the BM, I just handled one in the store the other day and think its really nice also. Hard choice.. But I am guessing you will hear more votes for the AFCK B/C allot of collectors have one.

Go with the BM AFCK if it is just going to be used for defensive purposes. That is just my opinion.

I have both the AFCK, and the M16, there is no real comparison between the two. The Benchmade in ATS-34, or the Newer Axis in D2 both blow the AUS-8 of the M16 out of the water. The titanium handle on the CRKT is overkill IMHO, the liner lock is very weak, and tends to move over too far(especially in any snap openings, which is a neccessity in any defensive situation). And if you have normal to large hands, the handle almost gets lost. The BM is a higher quality knife all around, and you could probably get and older model with ATS-34 for about the same price as the CRKT.

If you like CRKT, look at the Crawford/Kasper, either the black handled, or the Pro series are very good knives. Much better than the M16. Actually the Crawford/Kasper IMHO is the best Knife CRKT offers.

P.S. A p.o.s. $5 knife can also put a serious hurtin' on someone. I know first hand on this one. Check out the avatar.

the AFCK is the better knife, no doubt about it, either the 800 series liner lock or the 806 axis locks are one of the best knives around, imho, and ya can get the old liner versions fairly priced these days, try www.newgraham.com, they used to have 800-S AFCK's for $67.50, those are prob all gone, but i think they still have some 800-BT's/etc a little higher than the 800-S- FWIW the AFCK is one of my favorite knifes, period end - excellent knives, fair priced, its almost unfair to compare them w/a CRKT, though for the $$, CRKT isnt too bad, the KFF is a lot of knife for the $$ imho......
