Help me choose between these two knives

I've had a couple threads here asking for help finding something out there that I can use as a formal-ish EDC for work (business casual generally) and church type occasions. My birthday came and went this last week, and since neither of these knives showed up, I now have free reign to choose one of them for myself.

After lots of help, and some google-fu, I've narrowed my search down to two knifes. If someone can help me find something like either of these for a similar price point, then I'll consider a newcomer as well. Both knives are a bit more modern looking, and have blades between 2.5-2.75 in, and are around $50 give or take.

First up, the AG Russel 3in Carbon Fiber Lockback. Its got a 2.5in VG-10 blade, and I love how tiny and light it is. The downside to it, is that it doesn't have a pocket clip (and the carry case doesn't either). I know its a traditional style knife and it shouldn't need one, but my preference is towards knives with clips.

The contender is the Boker Elegance G10. It sports a 2 5/8in 440c blade, titanium bolsters and G10 inlays. I like the pocket clip, and the william henry-esque look it has. I have seen though that the blade length (usable blade that is) might actually only 2in, which seems small for a knife with a "2 5/8in" blade. This is also the knife that I have read less about, so I would love some input from owners of this knife. And despite the difference in photo sizes, it appears that this knife is actually smaller than the AG Russel. I originally imposed a certain length requirement for the blade, and the "2 5/8in" was within it, while the 2in is not.

Also, there is a severe lack of reviews on either blade (try looking for images of either of them in the web... it really is quite sparse), so if you were to go with one of these blades for my intended carry requirements, what would you do?

Thanks for the help.

I believe they are both 'out sourced' built. For me, I like the button release & the lines on the bolsters of the Boker + but then I also like something with a bit more 'bling' for handles for a 'Sunday' knife, like on the Russel. From the size of either knife, I don't think you'll even notice it in you pocket after a short while. I don't think you'll miss the pocket clip - but then I'm not the one buying the knife... Sorry - not much help.

That's a tough choice for I like the aesthetics of both, but if I had to go with one I'd probably choose the AG Russel.
I like the Full CF, FFG blade that goes all along the entire length of the blade, the vg10 and the fact it's a little bit longer.

I really dig the blade shape on the Boker, but I'm not a big fan of the button lock.

Both seem to be great values for the money.

Thanks for the opinions so far, I really appreciate it.

zippo, what about button locks do you not like? I've never had one, so I don't really know what to expect.

Checkout a spyderco cricket w/ etched ss scales or plain. Has frame lock. Classy looking, super thin and light. VG10.

Purely the aesthetics of the button that don't particularly attract me.

I doubt it'd be an issue, but I'd think a button would be more prone to accidental disengagement that a back lock.
Both knives are so small I doubt that'd be an issue, but it's something I'd be conscious of.

Seeing your other thread I think you'd like the Russel.

Yes, I have had a number of threads based around the same basic requirements and idea. If you'd like, you can see my progression through the knives in these links.

Where I learned about TONS of knives because of the help of some very willing members here. This was where I first heard of AG Russel, even though I was initially un interested in that small of a blade.

Thought I wanted a Kershaw skyline for a while, until I decided I wanted something smaller (blade length)

Thought I'd narrowed it down to a few knives that were smaller, then realized they weren't as "gentlemanly" as I wanted, and had to kind of start over again.

The last thread that was linked to above about finding knives that were similar to the AG russell found the Boker. Now I'm stuck deciding between them. I know I'm slow at making decisions, but I really do appreciate the input of members that have more experience with things than I do.

And who knows, I might be a traditional knife kind of guy that thinks for some reason he likes modern knives. The AG russell tempts me, but at the same time, I've never owned one like it, and worry I would be disappointed. I guess its the fear of the unknown, which is why I'm asking so many questions.

Thanks for putting up with me, and I really am making progress here.
