Help me choose - Case Medium Stockman

Well they are basically the same knife just with different handle material. Personally i like the amber bone better than the red bone.

They are also different sizes - the 6344 is 3-1/4" the 63032 is 3-1/2".

They were offering the 63032 in chestnut bone and CV as well.

oh hey they are different sizes. i completely missed that. I still prefer the amber bone, the slightly larger handle will probably be more comfortable in the hand.

I have a chestnut bone peanut, the chestnut is gorgeous. the hard choice for me would be between chestnut and amber.

I knew they were different sizes, but somehow I completely overlooked the chestnut bone! That's definitely in the running now, too!

It's so darn hard to judge knife handles by the pics on websites - I have an amber bone small texas jack, but does anyone have any good pics of the chestnut bone and/or the dark red bone?

here's some pics of the chestnut bone on my peanut. i wish i could find a spot in my EDC for my peanut, but i just can't bring myself to carry it. it's so pretty.

I carry my peanut in the watch pocket of my jeans,I am really hooked on them,as for the stockman I would go for the larger model.my favorite stockman is the 75 pattern.

I prefer the round bolsters as found on the #18 (3-5/8") or #47 (3-7/8") patterns, but they don't seem to make either of those with the pen blade, only the spey. I'd go with the 63032; 3-1/4 inches is just too small for me.

Dark Red Bone Medium Stockman 6344 CV, 3 1/4"

So in previous threads the expession a "Hose lipstick" was applied to the red bone
I have to agree the red dyeing is not particually subtle
It is 3 1/4" which is not that small, but as most Case knives, there is less blade lenght under the bolsters than other brands
So the knife begins to get small.

3 1/4"
Queen Dan Burke (Sanvik), Canal Amber (SS), Case Red Bone (6344 CV), Case Small in Amber)

Amber Bone Medium Stockman 63032 CV, 3 5/8"

Exactly the same as your small texas jack but with three blades

I do not know if you are set on a Case.
But the Queen Amber (D2) is only $8 more which looks exactly like the Canal above (Canal used Queen tooling), and the jump in quality and F&F is well worth it.
And the Queen Dan Burke (Sanvik) is only $10 more (if you like Sanvik) and the jump in quality and F&F is more than well worth it

This is a Queen 3 1/4" open in delrin, but it comes in Amber bone or Maple
The blade lenghts are the same as the 3 5/8" Case

After reading and looking at pics it's really no contest - 63032 CV Chestnut Bone! I think the slightly larger size (compared to the 6344) will suit me better, and that chestnut bone is really calling my name! And to think - that one wasn't even on my list to start with! ;)

A big hearty "Thank You" to all who posted here!

I guess I'm in the minority by quite a bit. I've always been a sucker for the 3 ½" CV Case Medium Stockman with Yellow Derlin Handles.

I have one and carry it on occasion. Very nice knife and the CV blades are easy to sharpen and maintain. I have several Case knives with the yellow derlin handles.

The yellow handled ones are pretty sweet too.
