Help me choose: chunky Lil' Native or chunkier Techno 2?

New member here though a lurker for a while. Appreciate the depth of knowledge in this place. Given that being on lockdown I won't be going around a knife store anytime soon, I'm hoping you guys can give me guidance on a knife choice .

I'm looking for a big, little knife: <3" blade, ~3.5" handle, 5th pocket-type knife that's fun to fidget with, and either titanium or CF scales. Help me out with picking from these three choices:

Started looking at Lil' Native in G-10. Great knife and a compression lock. And realised I could add Flytanium titanium or CF scales down the road. Pretty good result for around $200.

But if I'm going to spend $200, why not jump on the Lil' Native sprint run: full CF handles and S90V?

BUT, if I'm going to spend $210, why not go a little further and get the Techno 2? Probably a classier build, gorgeous scales, but maybe a little chunkier.

Specific concerns:
- are the Flytanium scales good quality or would the fit and finish annoy me?
- is the Techno 2 noticably bigger in 5th-pocket carry terms than the Lil' Native? I'm thinking it might just be that tad too chunky.
- I like the compression lock on the Lil' Native, and some people seem to feel the deployment on the Techno isn't perfect because the handle partially interferes with the round hole. Thoughts from people who have used both?
- the Techno 2 has 20% more edge, but is thicker and quite different ergos. Is a better or worse knife for you in terms of EDC?

So, Lil' Native with the option of after-market scales, Lil' Native sprint run, or Techno 2? What do you reckon?

My opinion would be the lil native based on what I get from your info. The techno 2 is an ounce heavier and slightly thicker in the handle. (.50 vs .44). Also being a frame lock it is less fidget friendly than the lil natives compression. As far as which lil native depends on the importance of the steel. I have no problem with s30 for the Lil native, it strops nicely and is easier to sharpen. Again just my opinion but it's a like a 2 1/2 inch blade, thats the limitation of the knife not the blade steel. It's not like upgrading to s90v is going to allow you to build a log cabin and fight a bear, lol. For reg edc stuff its a great knife, use it for a while and if the scales bother you upgrade. Good luck.

Lil Native all day. I prefer comp lock to frame lock. Also the Lil Native clip sits deeper in the pocket than the techno 2 if that matters. I have flytanium scales for my Lil Native and they are perfect. You could also just wait for the sprint to drop and get that and whenever you feel like changing it up get some flytanium scales for it.

Whenever I've pitted one Spyderco against another, every time, I ended up buying both.

Just get both.

Edit: Get the S90V first!

I'd get the S90V Lil Native (or standard version adding Flytanium scales)if you want a small, Dressed up knife, That's fidget friendly. I don’t personally fidget much with my knives, But IMO the compression lock is better for that then the Techno 2 Framelock.

Both are stout blades that can perform heavy cutting , With the nod going to the Lil Native in my use. Let us know which way you go and welcome!

I don’t have a Techno 2 but I do have a Lil Native and it is a great cutting machine. I have been very happy with the S30v blade steel and the handle is veery ergonomic. My only mistake was getting the compression lock. I should have bought the mid-lock. I find the compression lock awkward to use.
