Ok, I need some help here for a future purchase. I haven't held either the Apogee or the EDC, so any and all help would be appreciated. I have read some info on them and need to know what people that have them, or handled them think. As far as cost they are very close so that is not an issue. I would like to know how either compares in size and weight to lets say a small or large sebenza since I have both. I am looking more towards the small Apogee. What do you think?

Outside of a dog, a Knife is man's best friend. Inside a dog it is very, very Dark.

I have Millenium Apogee #5 and an EDC with carbon fiber overlays. The small Apogee compares favorably to a small Sebenza, but is smoother and better looking IMHO. The regular small Apogee is thicker than the Millenium, so it is probably a little sturdier, albeit heavier. The EDC fits my hand like a glove and is by far the sexiest knife I have ever owned. It is a terrific carry knife. Dexter Ewing has a carbon fiber EDC that has a skeletonized handle. I was able to play with it at S.E.C.K.S. this past weekend and I absolutely love it. It is larger, yet lighter than the small Apogee and seems to fit the hand better. Either way, I would pick either of these over a Sebenza. Darrel is a helluva guy to boot.

Take care,
Chris

I didnt even realise that the skelotonized liners (I make um here folks NO LASER) would be as light as they were. I havent weighed the knife butis ultra light . With the heat treated liners in ss it retains the strength also. I am liking this idea.

Dexter got one of the 5 protos. After they are gone I will change the slots just a little. I will eliminate the slot where the stop pin is.

This knife can be pure tac or dressed up a little like Dexters.

Black blades look great to!!

Thanks for all the kind words!!!!

If you go with either the Apogee or EDC, you can't go wrong. The Apogee is available in 3 sizes while the EDC has only one (currently). If I had to pick only one, I'd choose the Apogee in its medium incarnation because its size fits both the utility and tactical bills very nicely, I think. Now if Darrel started offering the EDC in a size like a medium Apogee, then I may change my mind.

eaisaacs - which ever knife you choose, you cannot go wrong. Greg said it best, the medium Apogee is very comfy to carry daily. The slim profile rides comfortably and deeply in jeans or dress pants.

I really like my carbon fiber EDC. It's got a meaty grip but as Darrel said, it's quite lightweight even with its thick steel liners. The titanium versions have a nice heft and the anodizing is very eye catching.

Then again, I'm not going to help you choose because which ever one you get first, you'll get the other later on

Thanks for all the help, guys. Blademan, nice review. I still can't decide, I have a feeling Dexter is right and I will probably end up with both. Now which one first. I am leaning slightly toward the EDC, but I'm not sure yet. Anybody else got any thoughts for me.
Thanks again for all the input. I also appreciate Darrel joinin in on this thread.

I have faced this same decision myself (as Darrel will attest, I have been pestering him via email for the past week). I have decided on the EDC as the scale design appears as though it will give better protection and retention characterisics for a working knife. The guard seems more positive and the beak at the end of the grip should provide security when withdrawing the blade.

Thanks again to all who helped out with their opinions.
