Hi, i am new to the forum and am seeking some advise on choosing my first kukri. I have settled on purchasing from Himalayan Imports.
The intented use is for bushcrafting in the NE United States. I am thinking a kukri will better suite my needs instead of an axe or hatchet. I am interested in a blade suitable for chopping and splitting. I am 6'4" slim build, 64 but in good condition.
I am looking at the Chiruwa Ang Khola, or the WW II.
Any suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance.

Welcome!
You may want to pop in over at the HI subforum. We have lots of really great folks who would be more than happy to refer you a blade.

For chopping and splitting, I think you are on to something with your choices. I have both of those designs.

Two questions:

What size are your hands, and have you given any thought about the tradional "ring" around the handle grip?

I bring those up because while I were a Large glove, I would say my hands are on the small size of the large size. Larger khuks sometimes sport larger handles.

While you can absolutely not go wrong with a 16.5" chiruwa AK, I would look into a 15" M43 as well. A bit shorter, doesn't have the ring, still full chiruwa tang, and works great as a field knife. Keep in mind about 60% of the models HI offers aren't on the site. The kamis just crank out too many new ideas to keep up with them all.

Yangdu just dropped some serious Black Friday deals. If you don't see anything you like there, sending Mrs Yangdu Martino an email is a great way to drill down to what you are looking for. Her customer service is top notch.

Once again, welcome and do stop by the forum :)
