Ok, I've narrowed it down to two knives based on my criteria of blade steel, blade length/size/shape, and handle material. I like the Mcusta MC-12 in black micarta and the Benchmade 930 Kulgera. Here's some important differences:
- Mcusta is VG-10 with a liner lock
- Kulgera is S30V with Axis lock
I like both steels, but if I had a choice, I'd prefer VG-10 and the Mcusta is more of a unique knife. I really like the BM Axis lock over the Mcusta liner lock. End use is EDC and for small game hunting/cleaning. What to do? Thanks in advance for your unbiased opinion.
