Hi everyone im pondering about which spyderco should i get as my first of this brand. Being a student with a limited budget, i could only currently afford to get one that is fairly affordable. So, im thinking about an Endura LW FFG VG10 or a Manix 2 LW BD1 or Native5 LW S35VN which are in my price range. Since i prefer medium sized EDCs, the smaller delicas and such might not currently be preferred. So which should i get? The prices of these 3 are quite close. Or do you guys have other similar spydies to recommend me?

I think the Manix 2 LW is the best knife ever, so I may be a bit prejudiced. It is made in Golden, has a forward choil, an awesome lock, and is extremely light. If you want better steel or harder use there are different steels and g10/metal liner versions.
The Endura is cheaper. It has no forward choil, a bigger blade, and metal liners. It's made in Japan. They both have good, corrosion resistant steel and quality. Basically if you like back locks and don't mind non USA made, Endura. If you like forward choils, USA made, and a lock that enables you to close the blade extremely easy go with the Manix.

Yeah i do like the features of the Manix especially that ball bearing lock and forqard choil. But the Endura seems like such a classic among spyderco fans so im really stuck in between haha.

The size difference between the Native and the Delica is not too much. I have them both, and I never find myself needing more blade. And they both fit very well in my hand. I guess it just depends on what steel you prefer. If I had to pick one, I would go with the Delica.

Another thought is your local law. In Colorado I can't have over a 3.5" blade, which means no Endura for me.

I see i see. I live in Singapore and i think concealed pocket knives are okay, just to not show them in public or else the sheeple might freak out, legal or not.

Hmm i get that but i like larger handles due to them being less cramped and having more "freedom"

Well, what a fail. I thought the Native 5 was over 3" in blade length. My fault. But still would consider it

Of those three, I would go with the Manix 2...but that's just my personal preference - you should choose the knife YOU prefer.

For me its no contest. I would say Endura all the way. More refined ergonomics, slimmer in pocket, and vg10 will perform a bit better than bd1 in edge retention. The Endura and Delica are two of the most popular Spydercos for a reason. I personally prefer the Delica, but since you are looking for something a bit bigger, grab the Endura.

Owning a "few" Spydie's.. I would put my suggestion on the Native..
I little smaller in size, but hand fitment and usability are top notch!
I don't ever miss the blade size of my Millie, Endura, Manix, or any other..
It's the last one on the list I bought and then I bought a 2nd one. Lol

Glenn056, it is my understanding that any type of knife is illegal to carry in Singapore unless you have a legitimate reason for doing so, such as going camping. Daily carry is not allowed and caning is hard on the butt.
Out of the knives you mentioned, I would say get the Endura. The Manix is a pocket hog and the Endura is a great slicer and sticker. I would get a dull color, such as grey, or brown so it does not stand out.

Damn. Luckily Iam not Singaporean and i do live in Malaysia (neighbouring country, and really do not seem to care about this stuff unlike Singapore which is really strict) aswell and only bring a small knife only if i really have to (cut nonhuman stuff, its more fun than scissors ) . Its really weird though, there are so many Singapore based businesses that sell knives and its illegal to carry in public. Weird laws. I guess mostly for home use then :(
