I've got the itch for a new folder and I'm wanting to try something different than what I currently have. My current favorites are Benchmades and Microtechs and I usually like SOG for more budget stuff. I'm looking to try something outside of those brands.
What I do want:
It has to be a regular production knife with a 3-4" blade, pocket clip and thumb studs.
Blade must be good quality steel, preferably 154CM, M390, VG-10 or 440C. Might consider AUS-8.
Auto, assisted or manual is fine.
What I don't want:
No opening holes.
No serrations.
A wide body knife like a ZT
I don't really care for liner locks but I might consider one if I like everything else well enough.
OK, lay it on me. What do you recommend?
