Im thinking of buying a new blade for the outdoors and I don´t now which to choose. Im picking one of these and need some help which to choose.

Regards:confused:

The SRK will be a bit stronger, but the Government Agent's thinner blade/narrower edge grind will make a better overall cutter. Also, (I assume you're talking about the current Gov. Agents) the SOG will obviously have the advantage in corrosion resistance. If that's not a concern for you, you might look for one of the old carbon steel SOG Gov. Agents, as its toughness, edge holding, etc would probably be a closer match to Carbon V.

Overall, both are good buys, handy sizes, and will stand up to a fair share of abuse. One thing that would tip me towards SOG is that their customer service reputation is better than Cold Steel's. Then again, the SRK doesn't cost as much.

I don't think you'll really go wrong with either. Their handles have very different feels though (chubby and square vs. thin and oval) so if you have the chance to examine before you buy it'd probably be worth it.

Edit to add: Welcome! :)

There isn't anything much to add which t1mpani hasn't already stated.
But to make a choice I would put it this way.
SRK = For the really tough jobs which no one else wants to ruin their edges on.
SOG-K Government = For the less demanding tasks, with true style and finesse which only a SOG-K can deliver ;-)
