Okay, I've got the BM 710HS (just got it yesterday, along with the Al Mar SERE 2000), and have a BM 720S. I loved the 710HS and the Al Mar so much that I practically slept with them last night. :o

Now I've got a few more Benchmade's that I am thinking of acquiring in the next few months:

-BM AFCK
-BM Griptilian

What other Benchmade's should I also be thinking about acquiring?

The AFCK seems to be sold out everywhere, and they're going for $192 on eBay!! Is there any place to get this knife?

And where are the best places to acquire the Griptilian?

Thanks for the knife suggestions. Hopefully I'll be able to say my BM collection is complete for some time after this. :p

AFCK is out of production. Good luck.
I know. I wonder if there are any places that still have it in stock.

I bought the 710HS precisely because I didn't want this same issue. :(

Looks like you need to get a 910 Striker as they are on the way out also-get the 910 HS .

You should also get your hands on either a 730,732 or 735.

The 941 and 943 are great knives which probably will be gone soon.

Blade Guy,

Benchmade has made so many knives in the last 10 years or so that "completing" your collection would be an ongoing process, especially when you consider they are coming up with new models every year. Nothing wrong in that, if that's what you want, but it will take a real commitment in time in finances.

I own a few myself, such as the 975 CQC7, four versions of the 73x Ares, a 940, and an older pre-Benchmade balisong.

I would suggest the 970/975 CQC7 if only because this model helped establish Benchmade as a maker of quality knives. Benchmade's catalogs for the last few years are available from their site downloadable form, so you can see what was available, and what's coming down the road.

Last time I checked A.G. Russell they had em for $130

I have been using and enjoying Benchmades for years but was very surprised by the extreme quality in a recently found 705 LE.
There are a few of them on the auction site.

I just got the BM 610 Rukus and am in love with it. I would suggest you look at the 610 and mini-skirmish/skirmish. Both are great knives and two of my favorite in my collection.

If you're making a Benchmade collection, than you absolutely positively must have at least one balisong. Most likely a 42.

I really like the switchback and miniskirmish too.

The sequal aint bad either...it's "just the right size" I think.

But mostly, I'm a Spyderco guy ;-)

I'd say an older 800 AFCK, an 806D2, 875, 910, 970, 975
Maybe a Kodiak or Tsunami and you'd have a usable BM history line of folders! :D

When I think about "classic" BM knives, I agree with the Ares, the 910HS, and also the 94x. Also the 710 which you have and the 805/6 (I opted for the 805 LE in HS) which you are pursuing.... every BM fans does need a least one Grip, and they come in so many colors, shapes, and blade steels....

The one I would add after these would be a Ti framelock, like the 63x 0r the beloved DC'd Pinnacle, which is highly sought after these days.

BM is my fav. knife company and it just goes on from there!

You should get a bali if you are into that sorta thing.....
