I want a knife with a better grade of steel than 440A or 420Hc and don't see much out there other than custom knives; I want the knife for Hiking and backpacking. and for use as a hunting knife, although not much for that purpose. I have read great things abourt Falkenkniven but not about the sheaht.Neithe the leather or the Zytel If going with the Faulenkniven, which sheath would you go with.I don't want to spend that much on the knife and then have to pay more for a custome sheath. I like the Canal Street knives in 440C but at most the blades are 3.5" and i want a 4-5" blade. Also If you get a D'holder from them it's out of my price range. All thoughts appreciated.

S1 blade grind is pretty thick, you may prefer that or not. AlSo the handle is thin but it'S A stout knife for sure.

I think the Fallkniven most likely has a better fit and finish, but is also more expensive. I would take KOA's D2 over Fallkniven's VG-10 for bushcraft chores. I have the Magnum Boar hunter and like the blade a lot. It comes very sharp and holds a keen edge. I find Fallkniven's VG-10 to be softer than the D2 and require touching up more frequently. I would say the rubber handles on both knives are very similar (grippy in wet, slimy conditions).

KOA Bush Camp I assume? Great knife! Light, deadly sharp, and nice grip. D1 steel is top notch. I love mine. Only down side is it's not as chunky as some out there, so it does not make a good chopper. Batons great though. Great all around camp/outdoor knife. I love the heck out of mine.
