ok so i need a new school pack.

It needs to be able to hold a few books, a laptop, my gym clothes and some protein bars an mp3 player a water bottle or two and maybe a spiral notebook and a few pens.

I have some eberlestock packs and some kifaru packs and decided that i wanted to complete the trinity and go with mystery ranch.

its a toss up between the sweet pea, the snap dragon, and the 3 day assault pack. I really like the sweet pea and the outside beavertail pocket it has, also its 100 dollars less than the 3-day assault pack which is a good amount of money.

the real deal breaker is if anyone has one, can they fit adecnetly sized laptop inside the sweet pea? if soo does it look like i could cram a bit more in there? because what i was thinking was that i would fit everything inside the pack and then just throw my gym shoes (vibram five fingers) into the beaver tail so they can air out. i just need to know if that stuff is going to be able to fit inside the pack before i pull the trigger and if there will be a space for my laptop, the 3-day seems to have a radio pouch which i assume i could slide my laptop into. so it all really hinges upon that darn laptop.

Thanks for any advice that can help me make an informed decision.

also if there are any other super high speed packs of awesome out there id love to know.

yeah dude not my scene, had alot of experience with different packs and 5.11 isnt quite the same as mm they are more a competitor for maxpedition. Not that its a bad thing just different. i appreciate the idea tho.

screw it i just ordered a sweetpea. after scouring the interwebs for hours found a review on youtube that compared the 3 day to sweetpea, and it looks like it will fulfil my desire perfectly. wish it came in flat dark earth or khaki but i guess it will be cool to have a non-tactical pack for a change.

Haha, I'm too late but I was gonna suggest you check out the TAD backpacks if you want a "tactical" styled bag with the beavertail :)

Sweetpea is a nice pack too tho, I don't believe you'll be disappointed

If you can post some pics of your setup once you have everything that would be great. I've been looking at MR stuff for a while now and user reviews seem to be hard to come by.

Like most high end things there just arent that many reviews, people are too busy using and being happy with their product ;). it will definatley be a project i would consider. There are other things i would rather review first. The i have two eberlestocks that i think could use a good write up.

@thatotherguy. Well thanks for the kind words. I will definatley put it on my to-do list

@ josh in the mean time there is a great review of them on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k7RwL2DJlA . its what made me go for the sweet pea. But no two people are going to feel the exact same way about a product so i think its worth going over.

Provided it fits my laptop. They have been a great company since they were Dana Design. I just have never had the money and the intrest at the same time. My maxpedition kodiak gearslinger busted, and i decided to move up in the world. I have packs from the other high end tactical manufacturers and thought this is my chance. I think it will be nice to have a non tactical pack for a change :) for once i will just blend in.

I've owned Kifaru's,Tactical Tailors, London Bridge Trading and more. I agree with AAr. The 511 packs are an excellent value and are very well thought out.
