Currently I EDC an Inkosi. Love it but wish it was prettier (Inlay).

I own a small Sebenza with Mammoth/Raindrop I cant make myself use since its so expensive.

I own a Minandi/Ladder that sits on display and I don't use because its too pretty.

I'd really like an inlay left-handed Damascus small 21 to actually use, but at the same time I love the new ti-lock Elemental.

Which one should I get? Im leaning towards the ti-lock just because its an annual and I love it, but I really want the inlay small 21 more, but figure I can get it anytime in the future.

I think you'd have an easier time using your 21s if your ditched the idea of the Damascus blade. Learn to love the polished blades, which actually display a high level of hand finishing, and are a nice compromise between the bling of damascus, and the boring old satin stonewash. Pick a nice grain pattern on a Bocote, a nice orangish Cocobolo, or a mint Ebony inlay, and "boom", you have a very sexy EDC that you wont fret about cutting an apple with. The Ti-Lock looks awesome, but I suspect it might end up keeping company with your other two Safe Queens once it arrives.

Just my two bits.

I'd go with the 21 if you want it for EDC. You might not want to EDC that beautiful looking Ti-Lock Elemental when you get it, so you are bacto square 1 looking for an EDC. I think the win win decision here is to get both... :D

Oh and post some photos of that Mammoth 21 w/ Raindrop, would love to see it... :)

I wish you didnt rub in my nose how beautiful that ti-lock elemental was. I thought I was the only one crazy for it. LOL.

Naw.. that Elemental is seriously beautiful.. the color combination on this one is way better that the past Ti-Locks.. I might just get my first one too soon...

Take the small mammoth and the Mnandi, put them together and that's your small inlay with Damascus. Too gorgeous to use as a EDC, see where I'm going with this.
IMO, the one inlay that screams "use me" is the micarta inlays regardless of the blade steel. The slabs are blasted, the micarta dresses up the plain look and gives just that extra grip and girth that makes it an excellent EDC. Chances are you really wouldn't EDC the Ti Lock.
You can take this for what it's worth, if you think that gorgeous Inkosi is boring, then you're gonna have more safe queens than users. It took me about 14 safe queens to fall in love with the plain jane, boring to look at CRK's. If you fall in love with the function of the knife and how with each use, it performs flawlessly and will for countless chores, then you'll realize the beauty of the CRK regardless of what's on the slabs. But I'm just saying.

Exceedingly well said! Spot on, Ajack!

Ajack60 is spot on. I would buy a UG and examine it and then put it on display. Too nice to use. Then buy another, then another. I never had a PJ until the 25 came out and that kinda forced my hand. As it was a PJ, totally replaceable, I felt fine using it. Once I got the thing in my pocket, I was in love. Now I even have a PJ with a Damascus blade.

But at the same time, I still have some for the safe. I do have 3 incoming right now and 2 of them are users. A micarta 25 and a CF 25. Both a little something extra to put into EDC rotation with the PJ. Kinda like you are saying, I'm trying to bridge the gap between user and safe queen.

I would think of you buy the elemental, it has an inlay you are probably not going to want to damage, and is not replaceable easily in the long run, so it will probably end up a safe queen.

Now that I read that back, it sounds a little excessive. Man my wife is a sweetheart.
