I am considering purchasing a spyderco dragonfly and was wondering what color people think would be best. I already have a grey delica and a camo PM2 but don't have much color so looking to change that.

H1 is an interesting steel and totally rust-free, IIRC. VG-10 is good but pretty common. I'd go for the H1.

G10 with the steel frame, in any color at all.
VG-10 is an excellent steel, which is why it's so common.
If you want a plain edge, VG-10 is the better choice due to how it's made/hardened/ground.

I will say I love the way VG10 takes an edge on my delica. I just am debating between purchasing this dragonfly for a summer primary carry or just carrying it in addition to one of my larger knives. If it is my primary carry, I would get a plain edge. If it's my secondary, I would consider a serrated edge.

Just googled it, man that is a tiny knife! Could be good as a secondary knife. I voted for purple just to be different.

yea marcinek agree with you

I guess I want to know which color looks better in real life. I have not handled a dragonfly as there is not a nearby dealer but I want to know if the purple on the dragonfly or the orange looks better.

Pardon the goofy picture, but the orange Dragonfly is a good little knife. It's actually quite a bit brighter than what the picture conveys.

I am not really into any of the colors you have to choose from. Pick the one you like best. If it were me I think that British racing green looks good or the Green G-10.

If your going to be around the water, get the yellow with H1, otherwise go for purple sprint run

Since they now make a purple one there is really no more need for discussion get the purple. 😜 there is just something about purple knives

I edc the ZDP-189 Dragonfly 2 and IMO it is 100% worth the extra money - it holds a laser edge for a damn long time with semi-frequent stropping (even on jeans) and really isn't *that* difficult to resharpen on the sharpmaker, esp. with some CBN rods. ;)

Also, the British Racing Green is really sharp (as in snazzy).

But like everyone is saying, if you're around water frequently, get the yellow H1. Otherwise you really can't go wrong with the ZDP.

Cheers!

Just purchased an H1 dragonfly and some orange dye. I plan on dying the handles orange. Thanks for everyones input. The H1 steel decided it for me. I will use this one around water and in humid areas so the other two steels just wouldn't cut it. I'll post a pic of mine before and after it's dyed
