I have 4 designs which I like. All are based on the same blade shape but in different variations. The top two are 6.75" overall and the bottom two are 6.5" overall.

The knife is a Small Game Knife and likely will be used for caping larger game as well. Blade steel and handle materials are already decided.

I'm leaning towards two or four... great looking designs!

I think #4 wold be the most versatile
#2 has a blade that would probably be better for skinning, the handle will index well too

My vote goes to 2.

Thanx Daniel, that's a good point about indexing in hand, but as a caping knife it likely won't be held with a strong grip, pinch grip more than likely. It will be a companion to a larger 4" hunter, so I'm wondering if it really is all that important.

I went number 4. I use my caping knives in a pinch grip like a kitchen knife. So thought the handle on number 4 might give some extra leverage for sweeping motions to separate skin in little arcing cuts.

Thanx for voting guys! The big surprise to me is that design number one is not more popular, being a classic shape.

I vote #2. The straighter design I think would give you more control when making precise cuts while caping.

I was torn between 2 and 4, but 4 wins out for being more versatile - that's a prized design element in any knife for me.
